The BMI / Lehman Engel Musical Theater Workshop

The authors are alumni of the Workshop, where Bill studied book-writing with Lehman Engel. Rockwell & Rose developed the score for A Little Princess in the Workshop under the guidance of Maury Yeston, Richard Enquist, Skip Kennon, and the amazingly talented composers and lyricists who were colleagues there.

Stages Festival of New Musicals, Chicago

The first draft of A Little Princess was presented as a staged reading with audience feedback.

Dramatists Guild - New Musicals Workshop

After rewrites, a later draft of the show was selected by the Dramatists Guild for its New Musicals Workshop. There, the show was praised by Jerry Bock, Sheldon Harnick, Lynn Ahrens, and Larry Grossman.

Sacramento Theatre Company

STC, a nationally recognized professional theatre company, and one of the oldest and largest arts institutions in Northern California presented the World Premiere of A Little Princess.
